The International Business Accelerator, Energy Control Inc., and El Paso Electric Company joined together to offer an Energy Efficiency Workshop, which took place on August 21st, 2013, at the Gadsden Independent School District board room in Santa Teresa. El Paso Electric presented different rebate programs it offers to small and large companies. Such programs have been created with the purpose of lowering companies’ electricity costs and to increase efficiency. In most cases, El Paso Electric refunds 50 percent of the total cost of any new installations and renovations, while the company lowers its monthly electricity bills. Energy Control, Inc. talked about the different methods companies can implement in their building and facility to have a more competent power system. Finally, Positive Energy Solar presented information on their successful solar systems that companies are now implementing throughout New Mexico. The workshop was attended by approximately 25 people.
