Two years ago, the New Mexico Small Business Development Centers Network (NMSBDCN) was awarded a Jobs Bill grant from the SBA. As part of President Obama’s National Export Initiative, the grant’s purpose is to assist New Mexico’s small businesses with their exports to the worldwide market. The IBA, the NMSBDCN’s international trade assistance program, was tasked with managing the grant and the program that was formed, called the Gateway to Exporting Program.
Since inception, the Gateway to Exporting Program has counseled more than 100 New Mexican small businesses. Several successes have been generated and several more are expected with the groundwork that has been laid.
We are happy to announce that the SBA has granted the NMSBDCN an additional year (starting in January 2013) to operate the Gateway to Exporting Program. We look forward to continuing our focused export assistance that this grant provides and to generating more international contacts and export successes for our New Mexican small businesses.
