Building successful trade relations for New Mexico means developing close working relationships with the public sector in foreign countries, especially in New Mexico’s number one export destination – Mexico. The IBA works hard to develop strong ties with our counterparts who represent our southern neighbor. This month, the IBA hosted Mexican Ambassador to the U.S. Carlos Sada, incoming Juarez Mayor Armando Cabada, Mexican Consul in El Paso Marcos Bucio, and the Director General of Mexican Customs, Aristoteles Nuñez (see stories below). These face-to-face visits are important in establishing a dialogue and strategy that is needed to allow increased trade between New Mexico and Mexico. We also were very happy to receive a visit from New Mexico Lt. Governor John Sanchez during the month.
The IBA is committed to improving New Mexico’s international business environment and we will continue to build bridges with our trading partners.
